Douglas James
Owner and Pilot
Douglas has been a commercial pilot for over 20 years. He has been a designated chief pilot for a charter operation and has numerous approvals and endorsements. He owns the aircraft and the business so he is committed to safety and service.
As a pilot used to providing a great service to customers in the demanding commercial sector he understands how to look after the passenger. His aim is to have you enjoy your flight, not to endure it! You should walk away having had the most amazing experience possible through having the flight targeted for your enjoyment.
You may have seen Douglas before in any one of a number of different roles as he is not one to sit still. In addition to his pilot duties he is also a Professional and Volunteer Ski Patroller, Paramedic, Registered Teacher, First Aid Trainer and First Responder with St John Ambulance and has spent years as a Volunteer Search and Rescue Dog Handler responding throughout Tasmania.
Where do we fly from?
We operate out of Cranbourn Airfield, located in the picturesque Tamar Valley. At different times we may organise to operate out of alternative airports, such as Launceston, but we prefer to operate out of Cranbourn as this airfield allows relatives and friends to get up close to the aircraft for those essential photos.
